Contractor responsibilities before cleaning
Finish dust-producing work, remove tools and bulk debris, protect uncured finishes, identify delicate materials and disclose areas requiring specialty treatment. Cleaning while sanding, cutting or punch-list work continues can cause dust to settle again after the cleaning.
Property owner or manager responsibilities
Confirm the authorized decision-maker, access instructions, included rooms, deadline and walkthrough process. Provide manufacturer guidance for specialty surfaces and identify any area that should not be cleaned with standard products or equipment.
Information the cleaning provider needs
Share affected square footage, work performed, floor and countertop materials, cabinet-interior expectations, high-reach areas, paint or adhesive residue, window scope, utility status and whether the building will be occupied.
