Confirm these details before requesting estimates
- Occupancy: State whether the property will be completely empty when cleaning begins.
- Utilities: Confirm that electricity and running water will remain available.
- Deadline: Share the move date, inspection, closing or tenant handoff deadline.
- Access: Document keys, gate codes, alarms, lockboxes and parking instructions.
- Extras: Count appliance interiors, windows and blinds separately.
- Remaining contents: Identify trash, boxes, furniture or belongings that require separate labor.
How to compare cleaning proposals
Ask each provider to describe the included rooms, accessible surfaces, cabinet and drawer interiors, appliance interiors, window scope, blind service, garage work and final walkthrough process. A general promise to clean the property is not as useful as a written, itemized scope.
Important window and blind counting note
Count each double-hung window as two sections. Separate interior windows from exterior windows, and identify exterior glass that cannot be safely reached from ground level with a step ladder. Blind dusting and detailed hand washing are different services and should be listed separately.
